Through Women on Mission (WOM) we keep ourselves informed about missions around the world and in the United States and participate in mission activities. We seek to follow the great commission as given by Christ in Matthew 28:19-20:
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
We place emphasis on the Weeks of Prayer and special offerings that our church observes throughout the year:
The Week of Prayer for International Missions (November)
The Lottie Moon Christmas offering (December)
The Week of Prayer for Home Missions (spring)
The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering (spring)
The Alma Hunt State Mission program and special offering (fall)
We also support the efforts of the Highlands Associational Missions.
We believe that missions education is important for all age groups. Therefore, in addition to women's groups, WOM sponsors youth missions groups:
- GA's (Girls in Action) for girls
- Acteens for teenage girls
- RA's (Royal Ambassadors) for boys
- Mission Friends for pre-school children
Regular WOM business meetings are held monthly, and small groups (Circles) meet separately each month as well. We welcome all women to become involved in Women On Mission.
