Our Church Services
Everyone is welcome at our services. Hope to see you there!
Each week people are challenged and uplifted in one of three worship services. They include Sunday Morning (11:00), Sunday Evening (6:30), and the Wedneaday evening Prayer Meeting (6:30). Come and find authentic and meaningful worship and relevant teaching to help you thrive during the week.
We think when you visit, you'll quickly make a connection and become a regular attender.
Sunday morning worship at Cambria Baptist can best be described as traditional and welcoming. We recently purchased brand new hymnals (The Celebration Hymnal). Worshippers are quite comfortable with the old hymns as well as new praise songs. We are blessed to have a full music ministry to include organ, piano, and sanctuary choir. Our choir director often has solo pieces in addition to choir specials. Every second Sunday we observe The Lord's Supper. A children's message and children's church is offered each Sunday. Among our worshippers are about a dozen Virginia Tech Students.
The Pastor's message is Biblically based and spiritually inspired. Scriptural lessons are contemporary in application and an invitation for personal decisions come at the conclusion. The focus of all worship is to draw people closer to God and a personal relationship with Christ Jesus. Our worship mirrors our church's mission statement which is "To connect a real God to real people".
Sunday evening worship varies and is less formal than the morning services. Recently we concluded a four week Bible study taught by four different laymen. We have hosted a video series (power point) highlighting the holy land and we have recently completed Rick Warren's "Forty Days of Purpose." Other evenings we sing favorite hymns and share in a short Bible devotional. We are also blessed to sometimes share joint worship services with our sister churches, Schaeffer Memorial and North Fork.
Wednesday evening worship is about an hour in length, the majority of which is devoted to prayer. We list specific prayer needs, discuss current requests and follow with a time of prayer. Wednesday night is prayer time, but we also include a brief devotion or Bible study. Our current study is I and II Timothy.
