Dr. Gary Allen

Minister of Worship & Music

Rev. Crowgey has been at Cambria Baptist Church since April 2012 after previously serving pastorates in Smyrna, GA for twelve years and Walterboro, SC for five years.

The son of a dairy farmer from Wytheville, Virginia, Rev. Crowgey graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS in Agricultural Economics in 1985. He then worked for the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service for three years until moving to Ft. Worth Texas to enroll in the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1988. After earning a Master of Divinity in Biblical Languages, completed his Clinical Pastoral Education and served as a hospital chaplain in Dallas Texas.

Rev. Crowgey has been married to his wife, Tammie, for 21 years and is a father of four. At the core of his pastoral duties, Rev. Crowgey has a heart for apologetics, church leadership, and discipleship.

Gary Allen just joined our leadership team in August of 2020 as our Minister of Worship and Music.

He was called into the ministry in 1979, at the age of 22. He grew up singing solo’s and playing the piano in his teen years, demonstrating a God-given gift in the area of music.

Gary's ministry began with youth and music responsibilities, and through a unique set of circumstances, felt God calling him into the Gospel Ministry. He served as a senior pastor for 35 years at various churches throughout  Illinois. While serving full time in ministry he completed a  Bachelor’s degree with a major in Bible and a  minor in music, as well as  a Master’s of Divinity and a Doctorate in Ministry.

Gary is married to his wife, Monica and they have two sons in Chicago and a son and two grandchildren that live in Dublin.  His wife works in the medical field.
We are pleased to have his music expertise and family join our family!
